COVID – Precautionary Measures for Old Park Meadow Natural Burial Ground:
We are all aware that there is growing concern over the rapidly spreading virus COVID-19. Firstly, we wish to reassure people that we will continue to lay their loved ones to rest with the same care and dignity as always. We are informed that the virus dies with the host so there is no risk of infection/contamination to people, the burial meadow, or our staff.
We do however wish to take all necessary precautions to prevent the risk of possible spread of the virus to families, their friends, the funeral directors and our own staff attending a burial.
We are therefore limiting access to Old Park Lodge.
When services/burials take place:
We will be continuing to follow Government Guidelines and recommend that gatherings should be as small as possible and held outside at the graveside.
Use of the Old Park Lodge is not possible at this current time, but this may vary depending on the advice given by Public Health England.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer catering at Old Park Meadow for the foreseeable future as advised by Public Health England guidelines.
Larger memorial services may be arranged in Old Park Lodge at a later date when it is advised safe to do so.
Burial of Ashes – this can continue as usual. In the case of a Direct Cremation taking place we are able to offer a full memorial service at a later date.
We recommend people self-distance themselves from others with a minimum 2 metres between each person. There should be no contact between staff and attendees including handshaking and hugging.
We will clean and sanitise our premises, furniture and facilities regularly to reduce any risk of infection.
Paperwork will be transferred electronically wherever possible and other documentation should remain unopened for 24 hours to minimise potential infection.
You are welcome to visit Old Park Meadow as usual during daylight hours but please adhere to current Government Guidelines at the time of your visit. We are available and can be contacted by telephone and email at all times.
Please do not attend a burial if you feel unwell with any of the COVID-19 virus symptoms.
These measures are subject to change at any time in line with Public Health and Government guidelines.
Thank you, take care and keep safe.
